I bought this about a month and a half ago, maybe closer to two months now. I just found out it’s a Donkey tail through the plant ID. It has a few tails (not sure if that’s the appropriate term for this plant). It’s very delicate and the leaves fall off. I’m wondering if I should cut the long empty pieces and propagate the ends. You can see new growth near the roots. I’m just not sure what to do. I’ve had other succulent plants before, but this is my first Donkey Tail. Will leaves grow in the this empty space. Does cutting the tails help? Any suggestions?

Sorry to tell you but that is not a sedum burrito. Not sure, but it looks like it may be an extremely etoliated Jade plant. Was this the condition when you bought it two months ago?

Thank you sooo much!!! I had looked through photos of what a Donkey Tail is supposed to look like and knew something was off.

Looking at it more closely, I doubt it’s a jade because they have opposing leaves. Just very difficult to tell. So you need to propagate. Looks like a couple leaves have started. And prop a stem. Whatever it is, when it grows up to a teenager, give it bright light, maybe morning sun. Water when totally dry. And chunky, gritty, fast draining soil.

I have this same leggy plant, it is a type of jade. Just not the typical jade we usually see. I just propped mine.

This looks a lot like our golden sedums, before we got them a grow light. Once they had a nice light source they started bunching up nicely at the end of those long legs. I’ve been too scared to try to cut them though, so they’re just longbois with healthier tops 😄

Pretty sure that's a ghost plant variety, mine looks just like that. It's very traily and the leaves are very fragile ☺️
