Not sure if this makes me a “good or bad” caretaker 🤣. But wanted to share cause I think this is fascinating. So as the weather heated up and the sun got brighter I guess, I noticed this plant (fairy washboard I believe) and also another one with not as good of pics (Haworthiopsis venosa) got sunburned. Or maybe this was happening for a bit and it finally dawned on me it’s sun burn. But what I want to share is that I moved them out on Sunday. So 4 days later and they are already greening up. It was really cool to watch the transition. And for the fairy washboard it just happened super fast. One day it was that red brown color and the next day, green. It also looks more plump and healthy. I’m not really clear on if sun burn is bad for all succulents I’ve heard some don’t mind it. But this plant definitely looks healthier with a few days out of direct sun. 😅

Mine did this on one side from the window and I had to move it too. It's crazy how they get so dark with as little as an hour of direct morning sun haha

It’s not really sunburn, it’s the plant adapting to the bright light. Many succulents will color up but many Haworthias become dark. Sunburn is when the plant becomes damaged from the sun. I’m like you, I prefer the green. I’ve recently moved a few of mine for same thing.

Thanks for the info Phil. I thought it was damaging it.
