I have a dark corner in my hallway and wanted to put a plant there. It gets very little light from the living room so I was thinking about a snake plant. Would that be suitable or any other ideas.

A dark corner? No plant will be happy there without a grow light.

Any plant you put in a dark corner will just slowly die. You can get a little clip on ring light grow light off Amazon for very cheap that you clip to a plant pot and make any corner work. Low light doesn't mean no light.

If you choose to go with a clip on lite, make sure it is at least 10 watts. If it doesn’t list the wattage, then it’s not high enough. Cheap low wattage lamps purposely leave out the wattage. I think 5 watts would be too weak.

Good advice! I need to learn more about wattage strength.

Hi Katty! You could try a pothos! I have a golden pothos and I’ve noticed it does ok in less light than others! It will grow slower since it doesn’t have the full light it needs but mine still does pretty well!💚

It depends on how dark it is. All plants need some light. I second the pathos suggestion. A snake plant is also a decent idea. Be prepared to move it if it doesn’t like the corner.

Ferns often do well in minimal light. Ficus benjamina doesn't prefer it but can survive it. hostas do well in deep shade, but you might want a mini (avoid yellow and white varieties; they need more light than average)
