Hey guys I need help with my cactus. It’s from Mexico and I got it from a friend. I recently asked for help identifying it and I didn’t get much help. I also need help with these brown spots that are popping up on the tips. For some reason the cactus is leaning over the pot instead of sticking straight up. What should I do??

It looks like some type of optunia. There are many varieties and the drooping could be caused by over watering or lack of sunlight. I suppose it could also be the stress of moving. I have two optunia, one stays upright and the other grows sprawled on the ground.

You say underwatering and I say overwatering and the thing is we could both be right!

So true! Very hard to diagnose from pictures. Soil looks very organic. Pot is too big for plant. Lack of natural sunlight, and possibly poor air circulation. All these conditions are hard on the plant. I try to emulate the plants natural habitat to the best of my abilities.
