I need some advice please. There are gnats in my succulent plants. I finally bought some yellow strips and that seems to be helping catch them but they keep showing up. I am letting my plants dry out to try to kill any eggs that might be in the soil. Going on 3wks now. I also added some cinnamon on the top of the soil. I have not noticed them in other plants, mainly the succulents. They seem to have moved from my bathroom to my kitchen succulent plant now. Any other advice on how I can rid my home of gnats?

    Sometimes they live in the drains. Try pouring bleach down the drains before bed and letting it sit overnight. Bottom watering can also help!

    What type of medium are you using? Cactus soil? Potting mix? Sphagnum moss? If you’re using anything with wood chips, or peat, or spongey stuff, it might be holding on to moisture for longer than the plant would like. Any stem or leaf rot near the base?

    I’m dealing with the same issue from a bag of soil I bought! I’m doing a multi prong attack cause I hate those little grrrrs. -fungus gnat spray on plants themselves -no watering for over a 1 1/2 weeks (it got my houseplants) -bottom watering with a hydrogen peroxide/water mix -bleach down the drains -sticky traps -perlite layer on top of soil -cinnamon on my succulents (careful though it can burn) I just did the hydrogen peroxide treatment so hopefully they perish soon. I’m going to hit them with a liquid fertilizer in their next watering to help the plants after.
