Have noticed that I have tiny flies around my cactus. Have always watered from the top but have read that letting the soil dry out and watering from bottom can help. Any others got this problem and what did you do about it.

    You probably have fungus gnats. Put mosquito bits in the tope of the soil and it'll get rid of them

    I use yellow fungus gnat traps and neem oil, money trees are prone to getting them!! I have a money tree myself and he had them when I got him, they are attracted to yellow so if you get those sticky gnat traps go with yellow, I’ve only seen them in yellow and blue, I also read it’s good to treat the plant every now and again with neem oil, but I would only do that if you see them. They aren’t very good flyers and the yellow sticky traps are also good to cut up into small pieces and just take the tape off one sticky side and place them sticky side down so when the new ones hatch they will get trapped right away!! I’ve had super good results with the traps!!

    Maybe this is a sign that you may be watering too often. Cacti and succulents should dry out between waterings. I have mostly succulents and have never had a gnat problem.
