Muddles my jade plant has recently been suffering from slight underwatering. It stared when I was away for two and a half weeks and no one could water him. I was wondering, would bottom watering be any good for him or should I just water him more often- but of course I do not want to overwater him. Please help.

Could you post a current picture?

I have added the photos and I uploaded a picture of Muddles' worst leaf by far so you can see the difference. Some of th eother leaves are a bit squishy as well due to a lack of water.

I would do both! Top water until it runs through the drainage holes , then top off the drainage tray with a bit more water .

your soil looks a bit dense, so i’m guessing the water is not getting evenly dispersed. i would repot this into something with at least a hefty handful of perlite

What is that white speckled stuff on the leaves? I can’t see detailed enough, but I would check for pests or disease. Do you have a close up photo of that?

He was originally my grandmother's and she owns lots of these plants, and they have all had these white dots for years. She has checked for bugs/pests and never found anything, so I am not entirely sure if that is the cause.

it’s not pests — jade will expel excess salts/minerals from the water through the leaves this way

Yes, I've read as well that the white spots have to do with the quality of the water. Mine are very happy and healthy despite spots like this, which rub away if you give a medium pressure rub with a tissue/paper towel. I don't do that often though. I know I should switch to distilled or other nicer water than tap water, but they really are growing quite happily.
