Just got this little guy, does it need to be in a bigger pot? If so what size is recommended?

    Yes. Not too much larger. You dont want to promote root rot with a pot that is too large.

    Leave it. They like a tight pot and to get dry dry before watering again. The larger the pot, the more likely the rot!

    Never assume, just check the root ball

    Check the root ball. If it's like ramen noodles then it's 100% ready for a 1-2 inch bigger pot. That is 1-2 inches bigger than the root ball.
