I want to switch to a slow release fertilizer for the upcoming growing season. Who has tried these for their cacti and succulents? Which do you recommend and are there different slow release fertilizers you would recommend over these? Looking for something cost effective and easy to get but works. I want to promote blooms, but I'm not sure these do that with the lower potassium content? Please share all your fertilizer knowledge with me!
I don’t have any experience with the Dynamite brand, but I use the Osmocote one, and haven’t had any issues with it. I add it to my plants when I repot them and change them out during the next repot. They’re very easy to use. They were what I started with when I was a beginner with houseplants so I didn’t have to stick to a strict fertilizing schedule. If you don’t want to add them during a repot, you can add them to the top of the soil on the day you plan on water it. Only downside with simply laying them on the top of the soil is that they are more prone to developing mold that way, whereas I haven’t had any mold issues with putting them directly in the soil during a repot.
