Can anyone give me some tips to encourage my aeonium arboreum schwarzkopf to grow faster? They just don’t seem to be doing that well. They’re under a grow light all day and I’ve been fertilising them according to Plant schedule.

Most succulents don’t need much fertilizer. Mine get a succulent fertilizer every 4 months as per the bottle directions. I don’t adhere to Planta’s. Soil should be very gritty fast draining. Not more than about 20% organic/potting soil. Water only when soil is bone dry. Grow lights should be a good quality very bright grow light. Should be at least 10 watts as supplemental light. The tube type lights on Amazon with the variety of color settings are useless for pretty much all plants. With those conditions you should see growth. I use many grow lights in my set up.

0 Me gustaI’m having the same issues with this plant. I have the Mardi Gras variety and finally found the happy spot for it. I tried duplicating with this one and it’s barely hanging on.
1 me gustaThanks for your advice - maybe I’ve been slightly overwatering then. I use Sansi growlights so they should be pretty effective. I only have it in compost with added perlite though so I’ll repot with a lot more grit and succulent soil. Fingers crossed!
1 me gustaSansi is my favorite brand. There is now a duplicate brand on Amazon that are exact same as Sansi but considerably cheaper. Their warranty is not as good though. Barrina is also very good. Their lights have wider light spread and not as concentrated as Sansi.
1 me gustaThank you for that! I’ll have a look on Amazon!
0 Me gustaI repotted today with added grit!
0 Me gustaWow! These are beautiful! I live in Scotland and it’s so changeable - can be rainy, dull and a bit chilly in summer so mine are under a grow light. Hopefully they’ll keep going and get a bit bigger slowly.
1 me gustaGood luck and l hope they do well listen to Phil he has great advice and knows what he's talking about.
