hi guys! I have been so behind on my plant care, although most of my plants seem to be thriving off of the neglect. I just wanted to make sure that my euphorbia trigona just has some natural corking going on… the watering schedule noted in the app is accurate. He’s in the sol soils cactus mix. He is currently being bottom watered I promise he doesn’t sit in water or have too wet of soil (he would’ve died a long time ago)🤭 any other tips to help him grow more leaves would be appreciated 🫶❤️

It looks like your plant has so scaring from mechanical damage, which I find impossible to avoid. The base of the plant looks a little discolored. If it’s firm, I would just watch it to make sure it doesn’t get worse. If it’s soft or squishy, rot may have set in. By the way, you have a variegated Euphorbia mayurnathanii. I love how the light parts for the plant are kinda translucent in bright light. I find the care to be virtually the same as a trigona. I keep mine in bright indirect sun. Not really sure about how to encourage leaves as it’s not something I shoot for with this plant. I do know once it drops a leaf, none will grow back at that node.

I got him from a plant store with all the scars (poor guy was on sale because of them). That was in December-ish. He didn’t have any leaves then and so I was really excited when he got them at the top. That’s interesting that he won’t grow any more leaves at the rest of the nodes.. maybe the top was just his newest growth then. He is with the rest of my plants under 3 sansi grow bulbs coming from different directions and I rotate him frequently (at a minimum once weekly). The lights are on for a minimum of 14 hrs a day and I stagger my plants closer and further depending on their need and reaction to the light. He was in need of a watering and I can tell from lightly squishing the top of him and seeing if he’s firm. The bottom was the same- not squishy but in need of water. I can’t imagine he’s overwatered but I’m not really sure.

So your leaves will probably come back in the spring. I took mine and put it out too early and I lost all my leaves and then as it got warmer, they started to come back.

I just put mine under a grow light a few days ago and now I’m getting growth of leaves.

Yeah, mine sits facing north east on the edge of my patio so it gets just a morning light and then it gets indirect light for the rest of the day and it just loves it. It’s very particular on giraffes so bring it in before it gets cold and get it as much light as you can throughout the winterit does not like drafts

My African milk plant is starting to flop over, and I thought it was because it was getting too tall/top heavy, but Southwest Sister's plant is very tall and very upright! What can I do with mine?
