New to these kind. Any advice at all? Like i just received them and water them in their 2 inch pot that they came in. They look like they need to be repotted. What do u all think? And if so what soil and i know to only go a size up pot wise. I have them in the window under a little grow light. Should i leave the grow light on 24:7 for them or no keep it on the timer?

Oooo, pretty!😍 Succulents roots are usually smaller than their plant size so they probably don’t need to be repotted yet. But it all depends on if you got them from a big box store that was constantly overwatering them, or from a nursery that knows how to water them properly.

Also if they are in peat or something else spongy feeling, they might need to be repotted. It holds a lot of water. That depends on your comfort level and experience. I dump all succulents on their head after I buy them to check from root rot and to put them in succulent soil. 🤪 But I’m a little crazy like that and very confident I won’t be too rough with them. I wouldn’t advise that to everyone. 😄

I’m going to try, but I’m gonna be scared. Thank you.

I do see roots hanging out of 2 bottoms should i repot them? And can i stick 2 plants in 1 or no?

Also do they need grow light on 24/7 or no? I live in Baltimore MD and it’s just starting to get to 67-70 degree now?

Once you have slid them out, you can see if they are completely root bound or not. If not, they will probably be fine going back in the same pot with better dirt. Look for root rot also. You can carefully squeeze the pot to slide out the plant and carefully squeeze the dirt to remove some from the plant. You don’t need to remove all of it, just enough that it doesn’t hold too much water. Repot them with succulent soil.

As far as the grow light I would double check the output (there are apps that can show you the lumen they’re putting out). There are a lot of websites that can recommend how long to leave the light on with the current output.
