It looks kinda like a pup that started and maybe was a bit to moist where it was growing. They usually break off from the parents plant with no roots. That bit of scaring on the left looks like it may have been attached there Heres an example of a different species pup
1 gillaOhhhh ok I understand! I went ahead and planted it anyways so Iâm hoping that will help since I repotted them. Thank you!
1 gillaI have a few succulents and cacti that pup, and I just pull them off or wait till they detach and dig a little hole next to the mother plant and pop them in.
2 gillningarWill they produce roots that way? It looked like (it might be hard to see in my photo) but it had little bumps where itâs bright yellow so I thought that maybe trying to see that planting would help. I also thought of having it in a tiny glass of water to see if soaking would help roots grow but I know cacti donât really need that much water so that might kill it if I did that
0 gillningarIt will, cacti usually take awhile to grow roots, especially if cold. I have seen people water prop cacti, it's not something I'm familiar with, and I honestly hate water propping unless it's a plant I'm just randomly cutting, or I know will transition back to media well. Usually I use rooting powder and just pop them in moss, soil media, or stratum/perlite
1 gillaThis guy is just in a cactus mix i made
