This is my first chance to prop a succulent, and it looks like itās not turning out very wellā¦š¬! What am I doing wrong? I spritz it every other day, because the soil measures dry. What else should I know about propping these little guys? TIA!

Tbh when I prop succulents I just leave the leafs out on the windowsill. I donāt put them in soil or water them or anything, just kinda let them vibe until they get enough roots to transfer to soil. 100% success rate
4 gillningarReally⦠you mean to tell me you put a succulent leaf on your windowsill, and they will grow roots? Youāve gotta tell me a bit more about this vibeā¦š¤Ŗ; Iām in a bit of disbelief! Could you give me some specifics like, are the leaves laying in the sun, how long does this take, how big the roots are before their ādoneā? This seems like some kind of weirdo magic, but if you will give me these specifics, Iāll do what you say⦠anything for my little props! TIA!
1 gillaHey, BigGrac⦠I tried to edit my reply, so it didnāt sound as short, but Planta has a bug, and wouldnāt let me edit it. Anyway, I appreciate your post, even though it sounds a bit weird⦠LOL!!!
1 gillaI do the same almost 100% success they get all the water they need from the mother leaf and misting them your self and a lot can rot them
3 gillningarYou just set them where they get some bright or direct sun and they take a couple weeks to root, then they have a baby. When the mother leaf is shriveled up you can remove and put the pup in soil. Itās really easy donāt over think it
2 gillningarThereās truly nothing more to it! Jillian has it exactly right - they get all their water from the mother leaf. Follow her directions in her second comment and you got it!
2 gillningarToo much water is rotting them. Follow the previous comments and place the leaves on top of soil and they will sprout roots that find their way into the soil. They are little propagation kits that thrive with neglect. Many plant lovers kill them with perceived kindness by overwatering and excess misting.š
