Hello! Hope yall & your plants are well! Im writing because I love my string of pearls. It’s my current favorite plant. However, I find myself feeling like I’m failing at keeping it alive. I’ve had it for 3 ish months, and it came much fuller and happier. I’ve lost 7-8 strings so far, and don’t want to lose anymore. Are there any tips yall have for me to keep it alive and growing? I feel under educated. Currently I have it living in a north west facing window in my bathroom. I water it when dry, about every 12-18 days. I just fertilized with 11-10-11 succulent & cactus plant food slow release. Thank you! 💚

I have never had one but that pot seems exceptionally large. I have only ever seen them in much smaller pots so I think they are likely being overwatered.

Yours actually looks pretty happy! The ones that have survived. I agree with above… they like a smaller home. Is north facing window giving enough bright sun? That would be my only recommendation - the brighter the better.

Okay awesome — bright light, less so cause I have a big tree in front. Thank you!!

I have to agree with the comments. The pot is huge meaning too much soil holding in water much too long. I recommend going back to the original pot size, since you have only had it three months, or go no more than 2 inches above the original pot diameter. Check k for root rot.

This is going to sound complicatedw but just hear me out. So if you look at a string of pearls when the soil is moist it will have small clear wedges in firm round pearls, if you look at a dry string of pearls that needs water it won’t have that clear wedge and the pearls will be kinda football shaped. Watering only when the wedges are closed is a really effective method, a smaller pot might help, might not. I have mine in a massive pot and she is super happy! If you don’t overwater a larger pot is not always a bad thing! Good luck 🍀

They like bright light on their tops but do not like heat coming in from the window. You can take hair pins and place the hanging strands on the soil. It will fill in again as it grows.
