I found this adorable cactus at a nursery today. It was sold as a “2.75” color ball cactus”…I believe it is some kind of gymnocalycium but I’m not sure what type. Does anyone have any tips on figuring out what type she might be? She also has no green on her anywhere. She is purple with pops of pink. There is a bud so photosynthesis must be happening; but is the purple sun stressing? Should that actually be a green color?

I don't know what kind of cactus it is, but (I think) this coloring is completely normal and the flower is a sign of good health I saw this same cactus on a different post and it was healthy. There is also an app called "Seek" you can download but, it struggles with certain cacti.

I’ll have to look into that app, it would be very cool if the purple color was natural (and not sun stress)!

I think I figured out what cactus it is, Chin Cactus (Gymnocalyicium mihannovichii)

I thought that might be it, but then I saw a few others that looked similar and got into my head about it 😂 It’s good to know that it seems likely to someone else. I’m gonna add it to my Planta account as a Gymnocalyicium Mihannovichii.
