So, what am i doing wrong with my orchid, easter, and african milk tree euphorbias? I got cuttings about 6 months ago and they just don’t seem to be doing anything. I had them potted in cactus soil i spent a fortune for but only one seemed to be putting out new growth. My African milk tree was doing well until one morning i got up and the new growth (with leaves) had fallen off. Against my better judgement i decided to repot in a recommended home made mix of potting soil, perlite, sand, and coconut coir. I also moved them from the rack where i giving the ~12 hours grow light to a window with natural partial light. Main light is afternoon. Here is a couple of picks in case anyone has some ideas.

    Just for comparison, my succulents, and a few cacti, get about 14 to 16 hours under very strong Sansi grow lights.

    Thanks. I have stronger lights, but i was scared to use them as everything i read suggested indirect light at this stage. There is a lot of conflicting info out there. I might just have to bite the bullet and be patient like most suggest. If they die, I’ll either try to start more cuttings or get new ones. I would really like to know what soil to use. Is a commercial soil good enough?

    Your Easter cactus when you propagated it do you keep the soil damp for a while?

      Yes, it was the one doing the best. Planta keeps recommending misting my epiphytes but I am reluctant to do so for fear of causing damage to the plants like rot or mildew. I’ve never known anyone to mist any type of succulents. One cutting already developed brown spots (which I am assuming was caused by misting).
