I need help with my Desert Rose. Both plants bought at the same time. Same soil, same pots, same window, same schedule. One is thriving, the other has started to brown on the tips of the leaves. Any ideas?? Ty in advance.

Over 2 1/2 weeks. I just moved some of the soil around to check for exactly that.

If it is still that moist after not being watered for 2 weeks, there is definitely a soil or pot size issue afoot 😩 There is also a secondary factor there of roots and transplanting. When you repot anything, it shuts down for a little bit and reconfigures itself to the new environment. During this time the plant becomes unable to drink for a brief bit. Once it figures out what it wants, it will start drinking again. Desert roses specifically are really water sensitive (I am actively killing one bc I planted it with more water seeking succulents). Because they are succulents, that bottom part is really easy to rot despite looking nearly woody. Once that region rots, it's like a 50/50 if she's gonna be able to come back from it. I had mine in a shallow terracotta planter and still managed to overwater her by watering her too early :') The soil literally dries out within hours but she still freaked tf out. TLDR: Desert roses are insanely water sensitive and that might just be too deep or not have enough drainage 😭

These are self watering, I like that they have good air flow. But don't necessarily use the feature.

FloridaMadisonI would advise not having them in self watering pots, they like to dry out completely and don’t like wet feet. Native to Africa so likes dry.
