Can’t figure out why it looks like there were bites taken out of the leaves of my false Christmas cactus, have checked thoroughly for bugs, don’t know what could be the cause of this?! Otherwise, it seems pretty healthy!! Any ideas on the cause?

Mine does the same thing and I think it may be because it’s corking! I might be wrong though
1 gillasomething is chewing it (or just other general mechanical damage) but it’s probably not bugs — i’m assuming this lives outdoors. it will be fine! here is an example of corking — when the oldest parts of the plant become woody to provide strength and stability for new growth — for clarity’s sake
3 gillningarNo it’s indoors, and don’t know what could be chewing on it, we don’t have pets, so idk, but it’s ugly!! I think it is corking then!
0 gillningarIt could be damage from getting knocked when watering or moving it. I had a spot on a ric rac cactus h that must’ve gotten bruised at the nursery and that spot basically turned brown and mushy. But eventually dried up and looks like in your picture.
