I’m new to lithops, and I just got them from the store about 2 months ago. I was afraid to do anything with them because I didn’t want to hurt them. I see that the stones are starting to split. I’m worried about how close they are together and how compact that soil is that they came with. Should I repot them and separate? Or don’t touch while they are shedding? Any advice?? Thank you!

See how much perlite is in there. These (I think these are called stone face or living stone plants?) are succulents, so make sure that the pot has decent drainage so that way you don’t drown the plant on watering day. As for repotting, those lithops can stay in the same pot, but make sure they have adequate room for roots, so I would keep them together but upgrade the pot a little bit. Good luck! :)

However, I do know quite a bit about lithops, and I recommend repotting after they shed.
