Anyone know why the tall succulent went so crazy and got so long it was touching the grow light? All plants circled in yellow are propagated from the same plant, first pic is how the tall one started. Is it cuz the tall one was from the stem so the grow lights activated some growth hormone or something? Should I reduce the brightness of the grow light? Or is the only option cutting it and propagating? I don't mind it being this tall if it would just chill and stop growing vertically so fast. The others are fairly compact which makes me thing they're getting enough light, so why is only the tall one etiolating so much?

    They are all going to appreciate more light. They’re a bit too small but as they grow the babies will likely etiolate too unless they can get more light. They really do best with lots of bright light—around 8 hours of full sun or the grow-light equivalent. Do you mind sharing how long your light is on each day and what strength it is?

      The lights on for 9hrs and I turned it down to about 70% because I figured maybe make it a bit darker in winter 🤷🏻‍♂️ so I'll turn it back to 100%, thanks!

      “Full sun” on a grow light is considered to be 12-14 hours per day.

    Possibly may be a flower developing. My garnet lotus did something similar. It’s been flowering for months. Not sure what will happen next cause I can’t figure out what the stem will do when the flowers end.

    If those are all from the same plant, I’d say it’s most likely a developing flower as Phil suggests. I don’t have the exact plant shown here, but I have similar species with flowers that look like this in early phases.

    He’s about to flower! Here’s my sweet prince showing off some long-coming flower buds. Really took off once I supported the shoot with buds. Keep us posted!
