Hello plant parents- A friend of mine asked for help with a succulent that was unhappy. When I got the plant, it was yellowing with new growth. I repotted it in new succulent soil, added some liquid fertilizer and gave it back to her owner. After a week, it looks even worse than before. I figure it’s stress from the repotting and removing the dying leaves. Any other suggestions would be helpful!
Sometimes succulents are just wanting to be left alone and don’t give them any water and it looks like you did everything great so wait and see

this one looks very dry. you should never fertilize or repot a stressed plant. your best chance is taking that one healthy leaf in the middle and propagating.

The translucent leaves are a sign of overwatering. I always use terracotta planters for young succulents. The soil looks way too dense. I realize you said it was transplanted into succulent soil. At this point I would suggest checking the roots for rot. However I’m assuming the plant has not been exposed to the cold. Cause this also looks like cold exposure.

Always good to add more inorganic material to succulent soil depending on your humidity/ location
1 mi piace Yes. But I do the opposite. I start with Jacks Gritty Mix and then add regular potting soil to that. The percentage depends on the succulent. Jacks has very little organic material in it. Most big name brands need inorganic material added.
