Looking for some advice for my elephant bush!! What’s the best soil mixture for these kind of succulents
This questions is the equivalent of going into a trade school and asking which motor oil is best. Lol For the elephant bush, I’d stick with a 70/30 or 60/40 of inorganic and organic material. Stay away from peat, if you can. If it’s going to sit on a windowsill for its entire life lean towards faster draining. If it’ll be outside come spring/summer/fall, add more organic material so the dog days of summer don’t evaporate the moisture before it can absorb enough. If you’re in plastic lean more inorganic and more organic if you have unglazed terracotta. Above all else, water when the leaves begin to get a little saggy or wrinkly, regardless of your potting choices—these are less forgiving to wet feet than something similar in the crassula family.
