Nettie is happy, I think. The wrinkling is just the outter leaves giving up and making way for the ones forming in the center…right?

    Should this be a time for watering? Or hold off till the leaves fall off?

    I have one in this condition currently. I’m not watering until the healthy leaves are feeling soft and squishy. After a lot of research, I’m still not sure if I’m doing it right though. I have several and so far they are doing well.

      The last plant is different but same care.

      So I’m right to hold off on a watering till it seems the healthy leaves want it?

      All I can say is, that is what I do. You may get other opinions though. So far mine are doing well. A couple got a little sunburn from a bright Sansi light over a year ago.

    I have 2 split rocks and what i have read up on all says only water in early spring and fall but only when the inner leaves get soft which should only occur 2 or 3 times per season. During summer it should be actively splitting and absorbing the outer leaves. Fall it should bloom and then can be watered if outer leaves have dried as well as the soil is dry. They go dorment for winter to stock up energy for the next split in spring

    I have similar plant here. This one freaked me out a bit when I first saw this. Is it like a crab or snake that has to shed its old shell to grow? I’m not sure if it’s timing is too great tho as it’s beginning to get cold here 😆

    Oh wow, this is the simulans type, right? I have never seen these up my way. I have seen people say they can get out of sync on their cycles due to shipping and other stuff

    Where are you located roughly? I’ve had this one for over a year and now it’s decided to go and shed its skin? I’m not sure what genus it is and I’m not sure if it does either 😆

      Im in the midwest. They call that variety a liver plant becaise of the shape of the leaves.

      That makes sense. With it split like that in autumn here it may have a little cirrhosis maybe?😆
