Okay yall one of my plants is deffffinitly sunburned. I’m a new plant owner and definitely won’t make this mistake again but I stupidly left my succulents out wayyyy too long in the sun and these two are in very rough shape. Is there anyone who’s also made this mistake or knows what to do?(please don’t judge to hard as this my very first time doing this and succulents were always hard for me even now as I in fact hover way to much over my plants 😭)

I don’t know what to do, but I just wanted to let you know that I sunburned 5 succulents in the past 2 weeks so you aren’t alone 🙈

I did too when I was starting. Remember next time, you have to slowly acclimate them to sun. I start doing acclimating them when cooler season starts, around November here in Arizona. They are out in full sun until when night time starts to go 90 degrees., which would probably be in the next 2-3 weeks, lol. First pic looks like over watered and mostly a goner (sorry). The 2nd one, I'm thinking still have potential. Check the roots and bottom stem, see if they are still in good condition and repot in a separate pot, a 2" way I'm seeing it, and keep in partial sun. Goodluck!

Also,I’m in a place that is in mid spring and almost to summer and it can get HOT. So what would recommendation be for gradual sun exposure for really any succulent? And should I water it more or prune it orrrrr?(im sorry I’ve never had sunburnt plants before😅)

If the roots are stil good, and the bottom stem is not mushy, with good healthy roots, I would pot it on a smaller pot ( I did when i over-watered one, lol). Water when soil is dry or leaves are soft, If no more roots alive, and stem is still good firm, I'll do water prop. I'll take it indoor too, right by the window where it would get morning sun. It needs to recover anyways. Mind you, it's going to take a while 😬. Gradual sun exposure (except peak of Summer) I would introduce morning sun for 15 minutes for maybe a week. Then 30, then an hour, and so on. It will take some work, but trust me, I did all that. Easier to do it when UV index is not that high anymore.

Succulents are drought tolerant, want their substrate dry before you water again, or the leaves are showing signs of thirst, wrinkly or soft.

I have been doing succulents for quite a while and still sunburn them. But I’m even worse. Not outside but under grow lights. Many are supposed to be sun loving but I have still burned them.

I have invested on a very strong grow light too, but loving the cooler season for them so I bring them out to grow and enjoy. Once it starts to get hot like right now in AZ? it's a work to bring them all in, that's what I'm doing now, lol. Little by little.

Hey! Honestly, I would take off the healthy leaves and start over, but that’s because I’m not the best at revival I’m only good when they’re healthy lol. If you take the healthy leaves off and stick the open side down into the soil, they’ll make new succulents! And for a bonus you can leave the stump in and still try to nurse that too. Once it’s healthy enough to grow again, more will pop out from where the leaves were. Hope this helps!

Forgot to add, this should only be on the first one where the leaves seem to be healthy still. I fear the other will just die if you do this 😬

Hi!! So I did re-pot the second plant in the 2nd picture. But I’m afraid it only has the two leaves shown. I don’t know if the tiny leaves at the top really count. But I could do the stem thing with more instruction!☺️

Shoot no video, but hopefully you can see the gap near the top on the right side of the plant. I pinched off the leaf as close as possibly the I just stuck at in the soil and pat the soil around it like you would any other plant.

Here’s an example of a plant I did this with and the leaves r tiny! And it might be hard to see but the stomp has a mini dead succulent coming out from where one of the leaves were. But then I neglected him again and he died😅
