I’m a beginner in the plant world, but I got this succulent about a week ago and it’s got this dusty look to its leaves as well as some brown spots on them as shown in photos. I’ve seen a couple gnat-like bugs on/around the plant and I’m just not sure if it’s got some sort of pest or not. Thoughts? And advice what I should do if that is the case? I’m not too keen on the idea of using insecticides…

    I can’t diagnose it 💯 but if you want to treat it, you can use a few natural remedies and see if it helps. I personally use sulfur powder and mix it with water and spray the leaves. Others use copper soap or neem oil mixed with castor soap.

    I agree with it likely being fungus gnats, so be extra careful about overwatering. The dusty look is nothing ominous- it’s simply dirty! Use a damp washcloth to wipe the leaves down and it will look much better! Just make sure water doesn’t sit on the leaves because succulents hate that.
