Bunzi is drooping, a few sources say that drooping slightly means lack of water, but I just watered Bunzi yesterday! Please help :(

    That pot looks way too big for a tiny cactus. My guess is that the soil never dries out and that can cause root rot. Check the roots and get a small terracotta pot is my advice. 😊

    overwatering can cause droopy cacti too. i think that’s what happened here because the pot is too large and thus the soil stayed wet too long. was your bunzi rootbound before you repotted? most cacti prefer to be snug in their pots

      I know I sound really stupid but what do you mean by rootbound? I’m pretty inexperienced with plants. Most websites said to put it in a 3-6 foot pot and the pot I have is a few inches over.

      When a plant is rootbound, its root fibers have all squeezed together & become densely packed due to having stayed in a small pot for too long. (See photo)

      @PlantFather was asking bc rootboundedness is a good way to tell if a plant is ready for a bigger pot — especially for less water tolerant types like cacti that are prone to root rot. While a 3-6 foot pot would be great for a mature bunny ears, yours is still very young, so it will be safer in a smaller pot. The trick is to gradually scale up your plant’s pot size as it grows older & develops the kind of root system that can handle a big pot.
