What is this? Hey there! I found this plant abandoned at college. I figured it’s because it was looking puny and someone just didn’t want to take care of it. So I decided I could probably save it. I was just going to transfer it to a different pot and take a look at the root system while I was at it. I’m actually just wondering how to identify this plant. It’s obvious it’s a succulent but does anyone know what kind?? This is my first post… so Thanks in advance I’m thinking some kind of stonecrop??

String of buttons :) that pot is way too big for its size right now. They grow quite fast in plenty of sun.

Thanks so much! Yes I put it in a much smaller pot in just water for now so it’s root system can grow

Be careful with that. I’ve not had success with propagating succulents in water. 🤔

I haven’t either. I’ve had the most success straight to soil. Especially with clumpy succulents like this, it’s more likely to rot the leaves, in my experience

I actually would have just grabbed the plant and plopped it into a smaller pot with the same soil until it is more established, and then repot with chunkier soil
