My succulent isnât looking very good. It doesnât have many roots or a stem to really hold it in the soil. Itâs more just resting on top of the soil. How can I encourage root growth and save it?

It looks like itâs rotting, probably from overwatering. Iâd remove all the black/squishy leaves and check the stem theyâre extending from. Cut off any part of the stem thatâs squishy or black. Whatever you have left after that, Iâd wait a day or two to let it callus, then put it back in the soil and give it time to root. Just make sure the soil is well draining, and water sparingly.

âïž Agree with all of the aboveâïž Unfortunately though, it may not survive. But if it doesnât, youâll have better luck next time based on what youâve learned this time! đ

definitely repot and see what youâre working with, a chunky soil will help the roots recover if there are healthy roots left.
