My succulent isn’t looking very good. It doesn’t have many roots or a stem to really hold it in the soil. It’s more just resting on top of the soil. How can I encourage root growth and save it?
My succulent isn’t looking very good. It doesn’t have many roots or a stem to really hold it in the soil. It’s more just resting on top of the soil. How can I encourage root growth and save it?
It looks like it’s rotting, probably from overwatering. I’d remove all the black/squishy leaves and check the stem they’re extending from. Cut off any part of the stem that’s squishy or black. Whatever you have left after that, I’d wait a day or two to let it callus, then put it back in the soil and give it time to root. Just make sure the soil is well draining, and water sparingly.

definitely repot and see what you’re working with, a chunky soil will help the roots recover if there are healthy roots left.
