iām not sure what kind of cactus i have! iām thinking heās a rat tail cactus but the clusters of spines donāt look as tight as that one so iām not sure. anyone smarter than me have an idea? heās got 2-3 different shades of green going on here tooāthe brighter green is the new growth since iāve gotten him from a friend in feb last year. (also, is it normal for the tendrils to grow off one another like that?) TIA for all responses !!
Soon another arm will start to grow from it
The older parts might die off but Iām not sure. I would propagate some cuttings just in case but it seems fine right now.

0 gillningar i got info from other places and also looked at pics and i think this is more accurate. from what i learned, heās also sunburnt :( so i may have to propagate some trimmings and start him over :( thanks for the help!
1 gilla Good luck with it. I had one for a few years that I just lost to rustā¹ļøfinding the exact lighting that it needed was difficult too. I never really got it to thrive, I hope you can!
