Hey everyone! I’ve had this pincushion peperomia for a few months now and he has shot up like crazy. I don’t know much about these plants. Is he supposed to be this tall and top heavy? He used to stand up straight but he is so heavy now that he just leans over. Is this normal or should I do something?

You can chop it and propagate it in water. YouTube videos can explain that if that’s not something you’re familiar with. Alternatively, planta tells me that mine is in spot that is too sunny. Buts it’s super full and bushy because of how much sun it’s getting, so perhaps more sun would make it fuller.

If you give her a haircut it’ll branch sideways! Put it in a shotglass and keep it full of water, put in a windowsill where it gets lots of light but not too much direct light or it’ll shrivel and sunburn. Once it has a good amount of roots (probably 2 months of growing) then stick back in the pot! Water a little more than usual at first to help acclimate it back to soil. Worked like a charm :)

Mine had really shallow roots too and was leaning over. So maybe the roots aren’t growing down enough into the pot. I tried to bonsai mine with the shallow pot and it seemed really happy! Then it got too hot one day and never recovered (rip)
