Not gonna lie . . . I forgot about this plant. I had to put the cardboard there so it would stay in the pot. It was so badly scarred the stem just fell off. I pruned and reported it. I gave it some calcium and fertilizer. Do you think I could do anything else? Do you think this plant will live?

  1. Full Sun Nursery

Should let the fresh cup callus for a few days before putting in soil and watering. This will allow the plant to heal its wounds and keep disease and fungus from eating it inside out. If it dies, you can find these at any store that sells plants. They are cheap and abundant. The cactus on top will not survive if detached from the stock/base because of lack of chlorophyll to convert sunlight to food. Otherwise I would say detach and grow it on its own. You can also try grafting again to a more hardy stock that won’t rot or die so easily. If the dragon fruit doesn’t make it, I’d suggest trying your luck and getting crafty and grafty 🤙
