Hey everyone, does anyone know what this white spot on my cactus is? And if bad, how I can fix it? I haven’t been able to repot my cactus yet but that is a work in progress. In the meantime if anyone has any thoughts I would love the help 🌵

looks like corking to me, completely harmless. just caused by sun stress :)

of course! if you ever get a pothos plant, they will start to do it as well to the stems close to the soil…the corking on those is made to support the weight of the stems. almost all plants (very mature) will do this to old and original stems, cacti is from sun stress and if the cactus itself is mature. it’s a confusing thing but completely harmless to plants

monstera deliciosa also have remarkable corking on the petioles since the leaves are so mobile, it’s fascinating to see the “scars” from plants’ growth habits
