[I need your help] This succulent was part of an arrangement I got as a gift a week ago. Through a post I made in this group, someone pointed out white spots on the succulent and to check to see if they’re insects. I payed attention and indeed there were tons of tiny white insects in the plant!! Yesterday night, I cleaned the plant with a q-tip removing all the insects. I took it out of the arrangement and the last photo shows how the roots were looking like. The 1st photo shows the plant after I cleaned it. Lastly, I repotted it. I didn’t water it since I read it’s best to not water the succulents after its repotted. Today, that’s how the succulent is looking like (2nd photo). Could I please get some advice on what to do next? The succulent looks very saggy and I wouldn’t like it to die 😢 I’m doing lots of research so I can succeed on my first time growing and taking care of plants 🪴 I would truly appreciate your advice ♥️

This is probably an unpopular opinion, but if this is your first time growing plants, I’d honestly start over unless you’re attached to these guys. Starting off with pests and plants in poor health is just setting yourself up for stress. I would recommend starting off with one or two hardy plants. You’ve already got pots and cactus soil! (I don’t mean this to be discouraging at all btw! If you’re up for the challenge I’m sure it would be very rewarding to nurse these babies back to health.)

Two days ago, I put the succulent in water, just to see if that helps it to rehydrate and deal with the stress. A friend of mine recommended that. My friend thinks it was very stressed and also that this type of succulent needs direct sunlight, which I was not providing. Still don’t but I’m thinking what to do about it.
