This poor thing.. I killed it about 10000000 times. I just didn’t have the heart to quit. I just looked- I’ve ignored it for a while and there’s this.. how do I let this baby start over with the new growth and get rid of the ruined parts?

It was a Echeveria 'Dusty Rose' 🫣 so just clip the new little plant off and keep it?

Oooooooh I see LOL it looked so much bigger so I though it was a massive paddle plant but now that you mention it I definitely see I was wrong HAHA. Yes, clip off and stick it in dry succulent soil and it should root, at that point you can water it :)

Is that scale on the old leaves?? Or scars?

Scars. Like from being too dry and brittle and cracking in spots.

It’s amazing that it pretty much rebirthed into a new plant

That’s what’s so wonderful about this hobby! Seeing new life springing up where you least expect it :)

You could have forgotten about it completely and never watered it, but the old leaves give energy to grow a new plant when it’s under a ton of stress
