Does anyone know if this is some kind of fungus? Scale? From the water? If I gently use my fingernail it kind of sluffs off… I’m so perplexed.

I would guess it’s minerals/salts excreted through the pours in the leaves usually due to the water. My Jade always has some on it (not quite as much as yours) and it doesn’t have a problem. I would clean them off with a damp cloth and keep an eye on it to make sure its not a pest or fungus of some sort.

Agreed. I use distilled water so that minerals don’t continue to build up

I would say scale myself. If it’s salt from your water it should wipe of easily. If you have to use your fingernail it’s likely scale.

I’ll have to look up scale and do some research. If I lightly scrape it’s totally dry. Kinda flakey and white.

I think you’re probably right. But all the scale bumps are white and so it seems like it died? I removed it from the planter, trimmed off the worst leaves, and will rehabilitate it.

I’d quarantine it until you figure it out.

Removed the jade with all the white spots. It probably was scale but it was all white and seemed to have died off.
