What would you do? This big boy/girl needs to spread out, it’s getting way to big/tall for the pot so it’s going to tip over with the weight, I’m already holding it up with two bamboo sticks. I’m afraid of damaging it so I need advice. The top part is thriving and as you can see, it’s reaching out in several directions. Under that, the middle part leaves are sort of dying of old age I guess and the lower part has new babies busting out from under. Should I cut the stem under the middle part above the babies, take those yellow leaves out & plant the stem with the cross like top on a different pot? Will it keep going and not die? I’ll leave the lower part with the new babies flourish on this pot since they seem to like it there. Thanks

I would leave it and let it hang naturally. It looks like a type of sedum so it should trail like a donkey tail succulent. You could also cut it and reroot the cuttings and let them all trail in a bigger pot.

It’s a Sedeveria Liliac Mist, not exactly a sedum, but it does end up kind of trailing. It’s a beautiful plant and very resilient. You could propagate as you mentioned and leve the bottom in this pot, or you could move the entire plant to a bigger pot where it can hang without tipping over the pot.

I think what I did incorrect, was to try and hold the plant upright with the bamboo sticks as it grew because it kept getting bigger & heavier at the top with the support. So now when I take both sticks out, the plant leans over down horizontal, which is not necessarily a bad thing, but it didn’t grow like that so it’s putting a lot of bent pressure on the stem and it looks like it can snap at any moment. I do like the hanging aspect. Ok so now I have two options to consider, either I’ll transfer the whole plant to a bigger pot or cut and repot the top section. I will definitely let it hang naturally on the next pot and do what it wants without my interference. Thanks for the advice!
