I think I’m going to buy a new succulent. I have a bunch, but I want something “different“, something odd. Any thoughts?

    Lithops are the best! Hindu ropes or barbillions are a close second though :) I hope you find the best plantie!

    I second lithops. They are fascinating and challenging. I am also a fan of the Karoo rose (Lapidaria margaretae) I find Eve’s Needle (Austrocylindropuntia subulata) fascinating. You might look at some of the stranger euphorbia forms. There are several that are caudiciforms that are just cool. Or the old standby Elephant Foot (Dioscorea Elephantipes)

    I just discovered a site called planetdesert. I haven’t purchased anything from them so I can’t vouch for their plants or anything but if you want to drool over some succulents, that’s the place to go. They have a wish list you can add plants to. I have a feeling mine’s going to have hundreds. They have all the odd ones.
