Do these roots look normal? They’re not soggy like root rot, but they’re VERY dark and hard to the touch - almost like sticks?? Should I just try and reroot the whole plant?

Normal. Healthy roots can be wood-like and they can be surprisingly all kinds of colors. Mushy, stinky would be bad. When you see black mushy root rot it reminds you of rot like icky food.

Wouldn’t hurt to watch, but I think she’s ok

There is the possibility that she’s on the upswing from recently having imbalanced watering I guess. Still looks good
1 likeHonestly half the worry is because about 3 of my plants got rot recently. It was 100% my fault, won’t even lie - I had them in pots that were both plastic AND too big. But I literally went out yesterday and bought like 15 small terracotta pots and repotted them all into fresh dry soil and even upped the brightness on their grow light to prevent this from happening again >_> I was just worried she was another victim of The Rot Epidemic™️ cause her roots were so dark

I have a tendency to overwater too. Trying so hard not to. And that’s one reason I use a lot of terracotta. That and it’s less expensive. I have all kinds of ideas how to spice my pots up, but they go with the orange and berry colors in my living room too.

actually means it needs a little more water! usually the very ends are white, if they’re woody it means it’s dried out
