After randomly spamming a Copiapoa expert yesterday, I’m ready to get some hot hot heat on this Cinerea (right) and what I believe is Copiapoa bridgesii. There is a lot of (surprise) mixed info on Copiapoa, and the intimidation factor for me is the mention of coastal conditions (western South American coast starting around Chile) and morning fog. Have you added “recreate a foggy morning” to your plant notes? Note that asking about fog made that expert call on another expert to answer. The bottom line was “yeah, they light it bright.” Here we go. I also said no more plants for a while, but a local shop had an anniversary event, and Copiapoa is an exception I’ve made. They are the only place I’ve found for Copiapoa, and I was saying a silent prayer as I drove across town on lunch. The shop also has no idea how boutique these guys are, and I ended up answering the clerk’s questions.

I am relieved you broke the plant embargo. Nobody likes a quitter 😉

I hit my limit when I got one too many tall/potentially-huge cactuses. But I was walking around Home Depots for the last weeks saying, “Only if you see Copiapoa.” Because they are little haha.
