Hi! Does anyone know the most effective way to propagate a rainbow pincushion cactus? Mine is getting pretty out of hand.

    wow! what a beautiful cactus! i don’t have experience with this species but most cacti are very easy to propagate, the hard part is getting one out of the pot without getting spines stuck in your hands. depending how sharp they are a tightly woven cloth or some construction paper can be used to pull one of the babies out of the pot. they may already have roots. if you’re struggling to pull one out, simply make a slice and let the wound callous over for a week or so before planting in some moist cactus soil
