any advice on what to do about the baldness on the stems towards the soil? do i just chop and repot?

    That’s what I would do! In my experience they root very easily. I have a few succulents that I simply don’t have enough light for, so they become leggy and lose their bottom leaves. Every six months or so I chop and repot :)
