I’ve always wanted this plant to fill out, but I feel like it’s been pretty stagnant for about a year. I never see new propagations from pieces that fall off either. It’s under a grow light, in well draining mix and a terracotta pot. Any tips to make it thrive??

How strong is the grow light? How many foot candles? I have only had luck with direct sunlight or sunlight and a grow light. Not sure where you are located but me in Canada a south or southwest window that gets a lot of direct sunlight. Also trying a much smaller pot might help. This large a pot it will put more energy into the roots instead because it will need a lot of roots to manage the amount of water it will be getting every time you water it.

The grow light may not be strong enough, but I’m in Phoenix so full sun is basically an oven. Maybe I should try giving it a little direct sun during the day, but I don’t want to totally fry it.

      Ease it into it.

Try feeding it, sometimes fertilizer is the push it needs to take off

I do fertilize but hasn’t seemed to make much of a difference with this guy ☹️

My burro tail thrives in an east facing window and I water and fertilize according to Planta schedule. Your pot may be a bit big and your plant is putting energy into the roots to fill the pot. I think if they are a little pot bound you would get more lengthy growth

I’ll try moving it to a smaller pot!
