Do you think my “kosmic kaktus” //pink Haworthia is dead? I know it grew for a while because you can see the green bits at the bases, but it hasn’t done much lately and it’s roots are not looking good. A friend of mine gave this to me and I am afraid I’ve killed it. The baby ones off to the sides of the bigger part are very wiggly, and tip over easily. I repotted it a couple of weeks ago from its slightly smaller grow pot to the terra-cotta one it came inside of, using succulent soil, but it doesn’t seem to have helped. Is it too late for this to survive? If not, what can I do? For some reason I always manage to kill succulents and cacti 😔

Oh dear. The pink paint has suffocated and prevented it from photosynthesizing dear, not you. This tares my heart out when i see these at home depot. A plant lives on sunlight. Especially succulents. If its painted, how can it possibly live?

No not dead. But it’s too big for that pot imo. I’d transplant the next size up

With a root system that big I’d be very surprised if that’s dead! Seconding that the pink is what’s causing most of the problems, but it’s definitely still salvageable! The plant still seems to be alive, but its lack of light as pointed out Danika has caused it to etiolate (aka start getting leggy and long because it’s reaching for more light). Repotting it in a slightly larger pot and giving it as much Sun as possible are really all you have to/can do at this point. Good luck!

i would try removing a few leaves next to the newer growth. maybe new leaves could grow back, which would be able to photosynthesize since they wouldn’t be covered in paint and overall end up saving the plant.
