I think I need to repot this guy but when is a good time to do that? It has tripled in size since I got it and want to give it time to grow. Any advice?

I guess it depends on where you live. I bring mine outside in the summer, so you could wait until then. You could still repot it—the trick I do is I never disturb the roots/soil. I simply just put it in a new pot and add soil, that way it’s less stressful for the plant. It’s never failed me

Oh that’s a great idea! I didn’t think of that. I’m so used to massaging the root ball to knock off the sediment but this makes sense. I’m in Northern Virginia so still cold most days here so no outside plants yet. But it has been an indoor plant its whole life anyway. Thanks for the advice!

Thank you! Is replanting succulents similar to other plants where I basically need to double the size of the container they are in to give them growing room?

you can because the growth is enormous on this cactus. Normally i just go a size up giving about an inch of room on all sides for succulents because they grow slower. But for a cactus like this you could size up pretty large. You just have to make sure that when you water, you water thoroughly. If just some of the roots get water and not all they tend to rot off. I’d look into types of substrate to use and find a pot you can drill into 😆
