Hey y’all!! I’m kinda new to the app but I’m wondering if someone could help me. What’s wrong with my Graptoveria???? I watered it about a week ago and made sure that the soil was completely dry before doing so. But my leaves are shriveling up! 😩. Please help! See the before and after pics of my trouble child. TIA

Does this pot have any drainage? A similar thing happened to me with an echeveria and when I pulled it out of the pot there was a ton of water in the bottom.

It does. Also, I added perlite to the succulent soil mix (half and half) when I potted it.

Oh shoot, that was my only idea, I hope you can figure out what’s going on with it!

How is the current moisture level in the soil?

Too wet is my guess if it’s still evenly moist throughout after a week. You did the right thing by adding grit to the soil though. Although, I can’t tell if you have a grow light on it. Window glass filters light enough that any light hungry plants struggle. My last thought is whether any environmental conditions have changed? More heat coming off the glass? Did the bottom leaves get wet at all when you watered? Has it always been in this spot? Trying to brainstorm stuff I’ve dealt with. Happy to keep trying to help.

I think it was too wet. 😫 I took it out of the pot and inspected the roots. They don’t appear to be rotted but I did lose even more leaves. So I have the plant on a paper towel now so the roots can dry out. Hopefully I can save my plant. 🤞🏽

If it’s not dying out fairly quickly, you can gently tease some of the soil off with a clean chopstick. Once it’s healthy, if pups don’t start growing at the old nodes, you can just prick it with a toothpick and apply a tiny dab of Kiki paste. I’m doing this right now to a few malingering echeveria.

The pebbles can also be an issue. I made the mistake of using pebbles and they were keeping the soil from drying out. I switched to using lava rocks to top them and that did the trick.
