I was thinking of cutting this jade and attempting to propagate the top cutting. Is there any reason this middle part with no leaves has those lines on the stem? Are they nodes? Towards the bottom it looks like one leaf is breaking off but two leaves are growing in? Is that correct? I’m not sure if the top part was just growing taller between nodes, or if something was wrong to not get leaves to grow there. If I do cut the top part to propagate should I propagate in a different pot until roots grow? Or can I prop into the same pot as this one? I feel like I haven’t had much success with this plant since my aunt gifted it to me. I repotted the soil a few weeks ago. I recently have it more consistently under a grow light. Soil is wet because I recently watered it. I know to let the soil completely dry out between waterings. Any help would be appreciated to try to help this plant thrive. Thank you!

It looks healthy! the part where it doesn’t have much leaves I’m sure it was from not enough light. I’d cut it right above the two leaves (the second set above the one that’s pushing out new growth, yay!) & stick it back in the same pot.

Thanks! I was worried if I propped in the same pot, that when I watered it would be different or affected by one plant having roots and the prop not having roots

I mean maybe but I’ve never had a problem with it, it just might take a little while getting roots started.

These plants need full sun and will drop leaves if they don’t get it. They also don’t like being moved either. I gave mine their own windowsill 😁

Unfortunately I don’t have a window with full sun… I put it under a grow light hoping that would help 🤞🤞
