I am pretty new to plant and I have a question about a cactus I bought. I got it from Walmart, and it has a very pretty flower on the top. I have seen on Instagram that the flower is fake and I should take it off. Is it harming my plant to stay on or would my plant be better off if I remove the flower?

Yeah, I would take it off. I once got a cactus with a plastic flower and it was rotted underneath 😣 Good luck!

Yeah that’s so annoying. I usually check first. If the glue is stuck on there pretty good and I can’t see any space between I won’t even bother.

Best for the cactus to remove it. If you haven’t already tried, be very careful not to yank as many spines/hairs as possible. Sometimes it’s best to cut the flower a chunk at a time.

I hate it when they put those in cacti. I’ve heard they’re theoretically for handling the plant without touching the spines, but they do more harm than good for the plant.

I’m pretty sure they put it on to sell them better. I think it’s marketing ploy.
