Hi there. I’m a new user and I was gifted a succulent in a 500ml can for christmas from a friend. I’ve tried figuring out the species of the succulent, as well as asking the friend personally what the species is but she isn’t too sure and i can’t afford premium right now (with christmas and new year just gone by). So, if anyone is any good with figuring species out, please let me know! I am planning on repotting the succulent OUT of the can, but it hasn’t got roots at the moment as it was repotted on the Christmas and I was gifted it on Boxing day. Thank you !!

Try using Google Lens. Insert/take the picture and plop it into Google search bar with the lens icon. Should be able to help. I haven't had any wrong IDs yet... As I check them again other sources just to be sure. Hope this helps.

This is a Kleinia petraea (also known as Senecio jacobsenii), commonly called trailing jade or weeping jade. Helpful information: Growth habit: This succulent subshrub is known for its trailing growth habit and fleshy, blue-green leaves. Light requirements: It needs a lot of bright light, so place it less than 1 foot from a south-facing window. Watering: Water sparingly, allowing the soil to dry out between waterings. Pruning: You can prune it back to where the stem is firm in early spring. Fertilizing: Feed it once a year with an all-purpose fertilizer. Repotting: Repot the plant after it doubles in size or once a year.
